Like Jim and Tracy, Syracuse, New York . After several years of escalating tensions, Tracy dumped Jim's clothes on the front porch and told him to get out. Fortunately, Jim's mom had heard of The Third Option and encouraged them to attend. They did and today, Jim and Tracy are one of many success stories from our program.

Mary and Dan Berube joined The Third Option group in Pensacola, Florida. It helped their marriage so much that when the coordinator left and they were told the group would fold unless someone took it over, they volunteered. Their expertise is in real estate. They had no counseling or human services background. But the program was so easy to use they had been doing it for almost ten years. There are now four other "sharing" couples.

The Third Option is actually designed to be used by ordinary couples, says creator Pat Ennis. "Everything a coordinator needs to start the program is in the manual."
